The Public Service Commissioner is appointed by the King’s Representative on the advice of the Prime Minister and has collective accountability with Cabinet for the performance of the Public Service.
The Commissioner provides strategic policy advice to Cabinet, sets human resources policy for the Public Service and is the Manager for Heads of Ministries.
Our office is open between the hours of 8am and 4pm (GMT-10hrs), Monday to Friday.

• A performance management system that improves performance and rewards excellence
• Strategies that support employee innovation and empowerment
• A public service culture that promotes zero tolerance for misconduct and corruption.

• Partnerships with the private sector, our Cook Islands overseas diaspora and development partners to
secure the best employees for our roles
