20 November 2020

Over the last two weeks, the Office of the Public Service Commissioner (OPSC) delivered the Public Service Performance Management training to the 11 employees of the Development Coordination Division (DCD) of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM), and 21 employees of the Ministry of Corrective Services.

Training Facilitators Regina Tairi and Frances Willis aims to “assist public servants gain a better understanding of the Performance Management (PM) system, understand goal setting, how performance is assessed and rated, and how performance can be managed”.

The training has been very interactive with multiple group activities to allow the contribution of ideas from individuals. As quoted: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”.

Some of the evaluation feedback on what worked well included; the entire workshop, the activities and constant interaction with others, an organised training, the activities and information corresponded together well, an interactive learning, facilitators were open to questions, and allowed for the sharing of experiences, the delivery of the presentation, the involvement of activities.

A big meitaki maata to Mani Mate of DCD, MFEM and Teokotai Joseph, Secretary of the Ministry of Corrective Services for your support throughout these trainings.

If you are interested in getting your Division/Ministry onto the revised Cook Islands Government Performance Planning, Professional Development and Performance Appraisal system, please call the Office on 29-421.
