Kia Orana, toku ingoa ko Annika Lane! I arrived in the Cooks in February 201
8 and has worked with a number of government agencies to support policy and legislation development, to assist with capability building and anything else where my skills and experience may be of assistance. My work programme has included helping Infrastructure Cook Islands (ICI) to develop the infrastructure policy and legislation; work with Office of the PM (OPM), Crown Law Office (CLO) and OPSC to structure and conduct training workshops for policy advisors on how to develop policy, write cabinet submissions and develop legislative drafting instructions. In addition, I provide support to the OPSC policy and planning team to draft government operational policies, and general support to MoT and CLO as required. At present I am also assisting the National Environment Service (NES) to develop a policy framework for new Environment legislation. I conduct all this work in the Cooks as a volunteer with the Volunteer Scheme Abroad - New Zealand program. My qualifications, experience and background includes a Bachelors in Political Science, Masters in Economics, LLB (Hons) with 20 years’ experience in strategy and policy development and implementation as well as senior management experience in the NZ local government sector
