[News] Our Work - New addition to Public Service Induction Training Curriculum

The recent cohort of government employees had a fabulous learning experience at the PS Induction training on Monday 21st and Wednesday 23rd October. The group of 37 employees from Ministries such as Health, Foreign Affairs & Immigration, Transport, Finance & Economic Management, Corrective Services, Justice, Infrastructure and OPSC is the biggest group thus far since the induction training program was initiated. The feedback from the participants demonstrated the importance and value gained from working alongside public service colleagues. Participants highlighted that the training was useful and commented, "It is a must, very important to know, very helpful in your career", "the induction needs to happen earlier, when staff join government", "it helps raise issues individuals are currently facing" and "also, it helps understand the importance of how we deliver as public servants". The new addition to the 'conduct' section of the training curriculum was the issue of "bullying in the workplace", highlighting issues such as what constitutes bullying in the workplace, the handling of this behaviour as a victim, a colleague or as an employer to as to ensure that this type of behaviour is addressed or eliminated. The next and final training for 2019 will during the week of the 18th of November, for more information contact Teresa Tararo, HR Manager OPSC.
