The Office of the Public Service Commissioner (OPSC) is seeking a highly motivated, professional and experienced Executive Assistant who reports to the Heads of Agencies Relationship Coordinator in providing an executive, administrative, and strategic support to the Public Service Commissioner (PSC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about contributing to the advancement of the Cook Islands Public Service.
About the Role
As Executive Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting executive leadership, coordinating senior-level meetings and communications, managing confidential information, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the organisation. You will also provide secretariat support to the Senior Leadership Team and assist with the coordination of performance management processes for the 14 Heads of Ministries and 10 Island Government Executive Officers.
Key Responsibilities
You will:-
· Provide professional executive support to the Public Service Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer.
· Coordinate meetings, events, appointments, travel arrangements, and executive communications.
· Prepare reports, correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes, and briefing materials.
· Conduct research and analysis to support strategic planning and organisational improvement initiatives.
· Assist with the coordination of performance management processes for Heads of Ministries, Island Government Executive Officers and Agencies.
· Support stakeholder engagement and maintain effective relationships across government and the wider community.
· Maintain accurate records and ensure the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
· A minimum of three years' experience in executive support, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
· A Diploma in Business or equivalent qualification; a degree in administration or management will be an advantage.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organisational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
· Experience using Microsoft Office applications, databases, and information management systems.
· The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and manage competing priorities.
· A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
