The Office of the Public Service Commissioner invites applications for the position of:
Secretary for the Ministry of Transport – Te Mana Tumotu ō te Kuki Airani.
As the Secretary for the Ministry of Transport, you will be responsible for leading and steering the Transport Sector for the achievement of improving access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy and transport. The role also includes the management of Government regulatory functions for dangerous goods licensing, meteorological services and liquor licensing to ensure public safety and security.

The Secretary is also accountable for ensuring Public Service excellence through the effective and efficient delivery of the Ministry’s functions and Government policies.
You must have:
• Postgraduate degree and Leadership/Management qualification;
• A minimum of 15 years’ working experience in managing, leading and directing a similarly complex organisation or major division in a medium to large sized organization;
• A proven leadership and management qualities in human resource management, strategic and business planning, financial management, information management and risk management;
• A strong understanding of the Cook Islands National Development Agenda (NSDA 2020+) Public Sector Strategy (2016-2025) and Civil Aviation Conventions; and
• A sound understanding of regional and international development partner priorities for the country and sector.
