Public Sector Strategies
Public Sector Strategy 2026 - 2031
As the Cook Islands commemorates 60 years of self-governance in 2025, this Public Sector Strategy 2026-2031 sets a bold vision: "A Well-Led, Trusted, Responsive and Collaborative Public Sector."
The Strategy responds to the Cook Islands Government Functional Review 2023 and aligns with the National Sustainable Development Agenda 2020+ (NSDA) vision of Turanga Memeitaki - Wellbeing for All. It applies to the 24 Public Service Agencies (14 Ministries and 10 Island Governments) overseen by the Public Service Commissioner, with recognition of the borader Public Sector ecosystem (Crown and Statutory Agencies).
Three (3) Strategic Goals:-
Transparent and Collaborative Public Sector;
Innovative and Creative Employees; and
Responsive and Fit for Purpose Service Delivery.
