The Public Service Commissioner invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Office of the Public Service Commissioner (OPSC).

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading and steering the Office of the Public Service Commissioner in delivering effective, efficient and ethical public services as mandated by the Public Service Act and to realise the national vision identified in the National Sustainable Development Agenda (NSDA 2020+) of: Wellbeing for all – Turanga Memeitaki.

The CEO ensures the provision of
- strategic support and advice – covering areas such as strategic direction, operational efficiency, human resources;
- overall organisational performance – to enable the Public Service Commissioner to fulfill all duties with integrity and professionalism; and
- timely support with accuracy and aligned with the core values of the Public Service.

The CEO assures that the Public Service Commissioner (PSC) actively fosters a transparent and accountable relationship among the Government, the Public Service and the citizens of the Cook Islands, thereby enhancing public service delivery.

Qualification requirements
• Masters in in Public Administration or Management, Public Policy, Law or a relevant field.
• Leadership and Management qualification.

Experience
• 10 years’ experience leading and directing at senior management level in a similarly complex organisation.

• Ability to maintain political neutrality.
• Analytical skills

The Employment Agreement term is for three (3) years. The job description can be collected from the Office of the Public Service Commissioner (OPSC) in Avarua or downloaded from the OPSC website at www.psc.gov.ck.
