The Revenue Management Division is looking for a motivated and sharp minded Customs Officer – Investigation to join the Cook Islands Customs Service. If you’re passionate about protecting our borders, supporting community safety, and contributing to national security, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding career.
As part of our frontline enforcement team, you’ll work across airports, ports, cargo, mail, and inter agency operations—making real-time decisions, uncovering risks, and ensuring the smooth and secure movement of people and goods in and out of the Cook Islands.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct investigations, inspections, and compliance checks
• Assess risks and take enforcement action when required
• Prepare accurate reports, documentation, and case files
• Process border documentation using Customs systems
• Work with partner agencies to support secure border operations
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on Customs requirements
About You
• A Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in border management, law enforcement, Customs administration, or equivalent experience
• Strong judgment, communication, and problem solving skills
• Confidence making timely, lawful decisions in dynamic environments
• Sound computer skills and attention to detail
• A commitment to integrity, teamwork, and public sector values
• An unrestricted driver’s licence and ability to meet all security clearances
