We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to take the helm of our Economic Planning Division. This is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career professional who is passionate about shaping the future and contributing to a legacy of sound public financial management and sustainable economic development in our island nation. The role is ideal for someone ready to step into a national leadership position and advance their career in a high-impact setting. As Director, you will lead a dedicated team of economists and planners, driving the development and implementation of national economic strategies. You will oversee fiscal policy and budget planning, and provide expert advice to senior government officials and Cabinet. Your work will span across government sectors and involve close collaboration with regional and international partners to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead national economic policy development and fiscal planning.
• Manage the development and execution of the annual budget.
• Provide strategic advice to the Financial Secretary and Cabinet.
• Build and lead a high-performing team.
• Strengthen relationships with key national, regional, and donor partners.
What You’ll Bring
• Postgraduate qualification in Economics, Public Policy, Management or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years in senior economic or public financial management roles.
• A confident and credible leader with proven ability to inspire, influence, and build capability across diverse
teams.
• Strong grasp of, or interest in, Pacific development and small island challenges.
• A results-focused, collaborative approach with integrity and vision.
