The Revenue Management Division is seeking a motivated Tax Examiner – Small/Medium Enterprises & Individuals as well as a Tax Examiner – VAT to join our team.
This role is responsible for conducting risk-based tax investigations, supporting taxpayers, promoting voluntary compliance, and the Cook Islands’ tax system.
You’ll work closely with Senior Tax Auditors and engage daily with individuals, businesses, and community stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and analysing tax returns and financial information.
• Conducting risk-based audits for SMEs and individuals.
• Providing clear, professional taxpayer assistance.
• Preparing reports, assessments, and audit documentation.
• Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all relevant legislation.

We’re looking for someone who has:
• A degree in Accounting or a related field, or currently studying towards one.
• Experience in tax administration or accounting/finance.
• Understands tax legislation and risk-based auditing.
• Communicates confidently and professionally.
• Can work independently with integrity and attention to detail.
