DEPUTY SOLICITOR GENERAL in the Crown Law Office in Rarotonga.

The incumbent will be leaving at the expiration of her contract in the last quarter of 2022 and the successful applicant will be expected to take up appointment in October this year.

The Crown Law Office provides legal services to the government, including the Queen’s Representative, the Prime Minister, Cabinet, government departments and statutory bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires experience in providing legal advice in public, commercial, civil, criminal and regulatory matters as well as conducting litigation (both civil and criminal).

The successful applicant will also be required to assist with the legislative drafting programme, as well as the mentoring and supervision of junior and intermediate staff.

The Deputy Solicitor General will also be required to assist the Solicitor General in the overall administration and management of the Crown Law Office.
