Following CIT’s newly developed strategy Te Kaveinga Manava Turoto o te Ipukarea (Cook Islands Tourism Development Strategy), the Regenerative Tourism Manager will lead a small team dedicated to developing a more responsible and regenerative approach to tourism and destination development in the Cook Islands.

Reporting to the Director of Destination Development (DoDD), the primary purpose of the role is to implement regenerative tourism practices and empower visitors to positively influence the social, cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing of the Cook Islands. Foreign Service Officer, International and Trade Affairs Division (PACER Plus)

Working from within the International and Trade Division of MFAI, the purpose of this role is to assist in monitoring and advising Executive Government, the public service and other stakeholders as appropriate on international affairs and trade and provide timely, high-quality policy advice to Government. As a Foreign Service Officer, you will assist in formulating recommendations to Executive Government, the public service and other stakeholders as appropriate to protect and promote the Cook Island's interests in its dealings with international partners.

Key responsibilities include: coordination of the implementation of PACER Plus activities in Cook Islands. This role will be responsible for program coordination and management of PACER Plus activities, support engagement and coordination of stakeholders at country level and support Cook Islands with Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Adaptation processes, while maintaining beneficial bilateral and multilateral relations with international organisations.

The Cook Islands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration is seeking suitably qualified and experienced individual for the following position:

Director – International and Trade Affairs Division

Reporting to the Secretary, you will be responsible for oversight of MFAI’s Foreign Service delivery relating to International Affairs and Trade. The purpose of this role is to advance Cook Islands’ interests by establishing and maintaining beneficial bilateral and multilateral relations with international organisations.

Key responsibilities include: team leadership and management; providing information and advice in relation to international affairs to key domestic and international stakeholders; managing and coordinating diplomatic relationships; and effectively representing and negotiating for the Cook Islands national interests.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading, managing and shaping foreign affairs and diplomatic relationships, and will have qualifications in the area of international law, international relations, economics and/or political science.
